This theme is well-known from Benjamin Britten's "Young Persons' Guide To The Orchestra" and is presented here with a contrasting Air from elsewhere in Purcell's incidental music to the play by Aphra Behn (who is notable as one the first female professional writers).
The temptation to head for the nearest flat key is avoided in this arrangement.
